Hi,

hope you can help me out. If i start playing a DVD on my PC (no rip, using the DVD-ROM) with PowerDVD 5 i got sounderrors if i use S/PDIF. 2/4/6 Speaker is no problem.
Got a CreativeLabs SoundBlaster Live! Platinum with Optical/Coaxial In/Output and a DolbyDigital Reciever.

The problem exists on two PCs everytime (directly after new installation or month of use).

The DolbyDigital-Reciever is not the problem, can play DD5.1 with another standalone-DVDPlayer.

Thanks

Methinks you should go to the control panel and look for something like 'AudioHQ' and go to the device controls. Here there's a decoder tab. Make sure it's set to 'SPDIF Passthrough'.

I had the same problem but it was with an audigy 2, so maybe that won't work for you, but I hope that helps!
