Full Version: Question about quality mp3 Vs. Flac?
Hydrogenaudio Forums > Lossless Audio Compression > FLAC

Quick question about which method is best for an audiophile. Is it better to download music in mp3 form and then burn it to a cd or download music in flac form and then convert it to wav to burn it to a cd. Just wondering which way produces better sounding music files for the critical ear? Thanks a lot I really appreciate it!

It's best to download the file in flac if possible, flac is lossless and that means the entire file is there, bit-for-bit. I myself have not found many sites that allow downloads in flac however, allofmp3.com being the only one I know of and those are mainly limited to the newer releases it seems? wink.gif
