Full Version: No sound on some mp3 files with fb2k

I've been using fb2k for a few months now - I'm not a programmer at all but I've taken the time to just about get the hang it because the sound is *that* much better than anything else out there... However, I've had quite a few mp3 files that will "play" as usual except for the fact that there's no sound.

I'm not aware that I ripped them with anything unusual (it was probably dbPowerAmp, but one or two may have been with SoundForge 7.0). These files will play with other audio programs, so that's not the problem

Is there any already known issue with certain mp3 files that causes them to lose their sound? I couldn't find anything on the forum...

Any help gratefully received,
Stu

First thought (all I have time for):
If there is an error in a file, it can cause the replaygain_track_peak to get an extreme value when that track is replaygained/scanned. If this is the case, and you have enabled preferences->playback->use peak info to scale down track that still clip... it will cause the problem you describe.
