Well, I have several videos in this container, mkv, but my dvd player don't recognise this format, so i would like to know if there is any method to convert this mkv to mp4.

This will be depending of the video codec that was used. Run MediaInfo from http://mediainfo.sf.net on your MKV file and tell us what the codec ID is.

I'm using Quicktime Pro and Perian (on Macintosh) to convert MKV to MP4. Here's a tutorial I've written with the steps to follow.

Haali's gdsmux is another option. Just make sure the output is named mp4, and it should be smooth and simple.
