Hello everyone - it's been quite a while since I dropped by these forums - too busy listening to music smile.gif

I'm still using some software versions from 2003 - was wondering if it's worth upgrading some of the software I use or whether to leave well alone as the changes are minor ?...

Currently

1. ripping with to wav EAC 0.9 beta 4 (22 May 2002)
2. encoding to flac with Frontah 0.91 beta (11 June 2003) and Flac 1.1.0 P4 version.
3. playback with WinAmp 2.91 and the flac plugin 1.0b7 by X-Fixer

As you can see I haven't upgraded in about 2 years ohmy.gif

I had a quick look around and there are some new versions of all the software I use - if it's worth it I'll put the time in reading up on all the details and making sure I get the versions that work with each other etc.

Consider foobar2000 for your audio player if you haven't already, you could find it a great improvement over Winamp.

In case you get discouraged by the time required to customize it, check out the foobar gallery and see what can be done with it.

Yeah, I'd sit down and give foobar a good two hours, then possibly have some time each night for the first week, where you sort out things you've noticed in the previous day.

At some points, I get psychologically addicted to the feeling of being up to date - like downloading - sometimes I just feel I need to be downloading things or I'm not using my time - even if I delete the files afterwards.

I need to see a psychiatrist, but one that knows of computers >.>
