Downloaded cool_lame from Roberto's page and extracted .flt file to Cool Edit 2000 1.1's folder.
When trying to "save as"(mp3 LAME), it is not possible to change the default preset.(standard, 160, VBR).
No way to use any other encoding parameter.
I tried 3 diff lame_enc.dll and I've got the same result.
Previous version of Lame's Cool Edit filter works ok, but its encoding options are limited(no a.p. etc...)

Thanks 4 any help.

OK, after rewriting a few chunks of the code, a new and working version of the cool_lame filter with amended source is available for download at Mirror 1, or here.

This uses the 'normal' lame_enc.dll. smile.gif

Yes, Benni, it does. That was the problem. It looked like it did before, but in fact it only ever gave you --alt-preset standard, i.e., the default.

cool let's post it on some fora biggrin.gif

The mirror provided by John is broken now. John? Could you give me a tip on where could I get the Cool Lame thing? Some version is supposed to be on http://www.inf.ufpr.br/~rja00, but it says that I don't have permission to access this page.

And you know, I'm not sure such version of Cool Lame exists, but it would splendid to have a small window in the plugins configuration box, where you could just place all of your presets, like for example "-m j -V 7 -h". And ofcourse a small button saying "Help" would be good - you press it and the window pops up, displaying all possibilities of the current version of LAME. But I'm not sure if lame.dll includes such info.
