Full Version: Looking for a tool to compare file checksums

hello,

I'm desperately looking for a checksum tool with the following features:

- create checksums of a certain folder (recursive scan!) and save them in a *.xml database or whatever

- being able to automatically compare the checksums listed in the .*xml file with the ones of a certain folder

- the entries of the *.xml file shouldn't be tied to the exact same folder location, because I'd like verify if my backup files on a CD still match with the ones on my hard drive (or a second backup CD)

- hashes taken from mp3 files are based on their audio information only (optional)

I've been looking for a tool like that forever without any luck so far. Any idea?

thanks

Does it have to be an XML file?
