Full Version: Copying CDs

I have amassed a decent CD collection and have been making copies for my car (keeping the origionals scratch free in their cases).

My question is: If I stick a music CD in my computer and copy it to a CD-R using the a simple exact copy type software, am I going to lose anything or will the CDs be identical copies? I'm thinking they should be, but just wanted to check.

Thanks!

Most likely not, but depends on the software you are using.

Yes, if you are using EAC with secure mode or Test & Copy, you have a proper read & write offset correction set up on your reader & burner. smile.gif

If you follow the guides at http://www.High-Quality.ch.vu , you will get copy results with a certain warranty of perfection. The EAC logs will tell you about the quality.

And your drive must be capable of 'lead-in' and 'lead-out' reading.

Guys, don't bother the original poster with techstuff.
Your copy will be the same like the original.
As for EAC, I can recommend the coaster tutorial:
