Hi ppl, i guess that those kinds of threads are pop-up often...
i tried to find some info to my problem- no luck.

i installed EAC 0.95b2
installed Lame 3.96.1 stable,

i run the config wizard of EAC, everything ok.

Using the default configiration wizard , i created a single mp3 with cue file.
the problem is that the cue file is not accurate, why its happen ? i read somewere that this is the vbr thing that makes it unaccurate, is that true ? if yes, how do i remove this Vbr option ? (i still want high quality) or do i must to fix it manually ?

anyway how to create the perfect cd ?

i know that this cursed question but i didnt find somthing that will help me through the search...

i appreciate your help...

that the track doesnt start at the same position like the cd.

You want perfect rip?

In this case do not use lossy encoder as MP3. Use a lossless encoder instead, for example FLAC. There is many thread here related with this backup method, for example:

If the tracks start at the wrong time, it has nothing to do with the encoder, batagy.

Try changing the gap detection method in EAC, there are 3 of them. Set gap detection to "secure" as well. That might help.

I agree with the advice of batagy, if your goal is creating CD later on again,
don't use MP3 (even not lame, though Lame is best of MP3),
instead of mp3,
go for best lossy formats like MPC Musepack or Wavpack hybrid, Optimfrog Dualstream, if u wanna create CD afterwards sometimes, and you wanna save space intermediate,
or go Lossless directly, Wavpack (Hybrid) or FLAC.
All described at http://www.High-Quality.ch.vu

Thanks PPL i will try to change the GAP option, and mybe the start reading about that FLAC thing...
thanks.

Ok Gap thing not working, somthing stuck.
i didnt tell u that the cd is mixed (continues trance tracks) so mybe that is the problem.
somewere i saw that the VBR might cause that, how do i change the parameters in the EAC so it will be abr ? i want to try that. thanks
Lyx
VBR with a high probability has nothing to do with it.

BTW: If what you mean is that the tracks are not "gapless" - MP3 is not a gapless format. However, lame stores some info in the files which can make them gapless - but you need a player which supports this feature.
user
The problem of playing mp3 gapless is inside of mp3, not because of cbr, abr or vbr.
Lame has a workaround with certain players.

But if you wanna have true gapless support, go for MPC, or Lossless FLAC, or WavPack etc.

It must be the gap option : append to next/previous track, that must be wrong.

The right option is to append gaps to previous track. And the right option for the cuesheet is "Multiple WAVs with gaps (noncompliant)".

What do you play the resulting MP3+cue combo with?
