So I'm trying to learn about all the features/functions of fb2k v0.8.3 and I'm curious as to the function of the Masstagger if I don't add any actions?

So I add a bunch of files...

#1 If I have fb2k set for id3v1 and id3v2, and if all tags are proper, what is it doing for so long?

#2 If I only have proper id3v2 tags, no id3v1 tags, and have fb2k set for id3v1 and id3v2, does it "sync" them? This was the case for several of my files, and it certainly seemed to write the v2 info over to the v1 tags.

It seems like this worked sort of like the "database" > "reload info from file(s)" or "rewrite file tags from database" proceedure I read about somewhere around here. [Not sure which one was correct, or even the difference. I say this because I don't want to steer another n00b like myself in the wrong direction.]

Thanks as always!

It's like you already suspected. If you don't apply any actions, masstagger just rewrites the tags.

A BIG thanks to all!

Also, I find if you switch to APE2, the tags write at lightspeed wink.gif
