Full Version: Does Foobar ONLY recognize APEv2 tags?

Knowing that Foobar did not natively support Id3v2 tags... I just assumed that if I converted all of my Id3v2 to Id3v1 tags, foobar would recognize the information... Alas... A good chunk of my library is still tagless, even though I know that all of the songs are tagged with both Id3v1 and 2.... Does foobar ONLY recognize APEv2 tags???... If so, by what means should I go about converting the information from the Id3 tags to APEv2 (ideally without losing the Id3v2 tags since my mp3 player uses those).

It sounds like you're using 0.8.3.

That version uses a plug in (foo_id3v2) to read those tags. It is included in the special installer (I believe...).

This thread may help, as will this thread.

Edit: synth7 beat me...

Nope, foobar2000 recognizes ID3v1 too. Select all your files, choose Properties, and reload info from files.

If you want foobar2000 to read ID3v2, get the ID3v2 plugin.

If you want foobar2000 to write ID3v2, you might want to check out the new beta.
