Hello all,

I am using EAC to rip my CD collection. I noticed that even though I have the option that fetches CD info from FreeDB on insert set to off, it does anyway. This really isn't a problem for me, but I am curious to whether this was done on purpose, is a bug, or is due to me not setting something up right sad.gif

I don't think it does a freedb lookup. It retrieves the information from its database. I believe the CD information is stored under files with extension IDX under EAC directory or looks it up from cdplayer.ini file. Try deleting them. Does it do it for a CD you insert into the computer the first time?

I had thought that EAC was pulling the information from its own database as well. What I tried to do was delete EAC's database using its own little database viewer --apearently that isn't enough. Following your suggestion, I deleted cdplayer.ini and CDDB.DAT (there were no IDX files on my system, but out of curiosity I checked this file and it contained info about my CDs though) The option works normally now.

Thank you
