A person I know listens to radio from his home country by listening to streams off the internet. He used to hook a tape recorder up to his headphone port, play the tape back, and record it with his computer. I showed him yesturday how to record it with audacity listening to wave. I'm trying to find a good free real audio stream recorder, however the only things I can find are shareware.
Something like sripper, except for real audio would be perfect.

VideoLan can do it, but not without a lot of tinkering.
Hrmm... These are streams from other countries, so they probably aren't in the latest greatest RM format. If that's true, the old Streambox VCR will capture it in a nice easy to use program. Worth a try.

Got good results with Streambox VCR Suite from the Afterdawn forums.

The best of the lot is Net Transport. Started as freeware, the current version is share (nag) ware. The last freeware version is available here:
