hi there,
I just have a quick question that I am looking for some assistance with. I tried to search through the forums to ensure that I am not asking something that has been beaten to death already, but the search function doesn't seem to be working for me. So I apologize in advance if this has been approached before.
I have an mp3 file that just doesn't want to be converted to a wav. The file itself, as an mp3, plays fine, but when I try to decode it to a wav file using varying converters it just doesn't want to do it. Even if i try to open it with sound editing program (Cooledit 2000) it will open it but all it will be is static.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?
thanks in advance.

If you can play it, it is being decoded. Use the filewriter or diskwriter of your playback program.

It could be because it is a freeformat MP3.
Did you try dbPowerAmp?

Try
Madplay. If that don't work you could try Lame. All can be found
here.
