Full Version: New MB+CPU, same FB, new problem
Hydrogenaudio Forums > Hosted Forums > foobar2000 > General - (fb2k)
fabiospark
I moved my charminly working FB from this set:

Asus A7V
Athlon 1000
30 GB UATA system HD
300 GB UATA tracks HD
Aureon 7.1 space
PCI Matrox Millenium G450 dual head
No AGP cards
WinXP Pro Sp1
FB 0.8.3

to this other:

Asus a
A8V-E deluxe
Athlon 64 3000+
160 GB SATA system HD
same tracks HD
same audio card
same video card
same software

Now, if I have FB open and I open the task manager window too and start moving it around, I can see a bad screen redrawing leaving a sort of a "tail" of the task manager window behind it. (I must say that, in a lesser form, I can see this bad redrawing also on another PC with an FX53 and a Radeon 9600)
While moving it around, I can also hear strong clicks in the audio; both analog and digital outputs.
I can hear the same clicks even if I have the trackinfo "update every second" checked.
I tried doing the same just on the windows desktop and the bad redrawing doesn't happen.

I tried with the drivers discs provided with the hardware and also downloading the latest drivers from the net but it's the same.

Any idea where to look at?
Which other tests could help me to find the problem?

Thanks.

Have you installed the proper via northbridge driver? The one that was previously on your A7V (an amazing board BTW) probably is much too old for your new board.

Are your Matrox Millenium G450 dual head and Aureon 7.1 space sharing the same IRQ?

what screen resolution are you running?
Try lowering your screen resolution and see if you still have the problem

have you checked for a BIOS update?
