ok guys, i did it. so everybody who have a problem here's:
Fixing Unicode Tags Problem in Foobar 0.9 Guide

dont use it yet. use in your own caution only.

1. open foobar 0.8.3
2. go to preferences - > id3v2 tag support -> uncheck "decode and write....."
3. go to preferences - > database -> uncheck "black tag update operation"
4. in your playlist, select all your problematic songs (the non english ones),
then, right click - > database > "rewrite tags from database".

it will take time (depends on your number of songs), but it works smile.gif

after it's done, add again the songs to foobar 0.9 and watch the songs as they should be.
have fun.

big notice everybody:
after you returning back to 0.8.3 you cant see hebrew (or other languages i guess). it's changing the tags to questions marks (?????).
but in 0.9 you can still see everything normal.
ill try to find a solution.

what happend to my files?
the same song is highlighted in both foobars and explorer (נחמיה 17).
in explorer theres also quetion marks! how do i tag the files as they should?!
how come in foobar 0.9 they are displayed good?

edit: if i remove id3v2 and just using id3v1 + APEv2 everything's fine.
should i do it?
id3v2 will never have a good support for unicode?

not very sure, yet...
can u pls give a print-screen of the info of the mp3 file in foobar2000v0.9beta ? (Select that mp3 file, and then Right-Click > Properties )
witt
Uncheck "Always write ..."
Check "Write bite order ..."
Check "Decode and write ..."
then "rewrite tags from database".

This setting rewrites "non-compliant" tags (ISO-8859-1 tags which using system code page) in UTF-16 tags.

eliazu,

Yes, the tips posted by witt is working in some "certain" situations... cool.gif
if u r using Hebrew Windows, just follow his(/her) instructions smile.gif
(and,IMHO,what u had posted at the post#1 is totally useless... cool.gif )

good luck.

hey.
what i did after my id3v2 tags on 0.8.3 gone ,
is that i rewrite them from from 0.9 but in APEv2 format.
so now i have only id3v1 + APEv2 and i can see it in both foobar and explorer.
thanx everybody.
