Hiya smile.gif
I'm fairly new to foobar. When I say that, I mean I haven't gone any further into it than customizing the UI and adding my mp3's.

I've always had this problem; some of my songs' tags appear to be incorrect,
but upon inspection in Tag&Rename, both the ID3v2 & ID3v1 tags are correct.
I have the ID3v2.dll in the components folder too.

These two songs are correctly tagged, but output these strange names huh.gif

I've searched and I came up with this thread, but when I check the APEv2 tags in Tag&Rename, there are none.

Does anybody know what the problem could be and how I could fix it?

Thanks very much. smile.gif

EDIT: I had a look here and it says that you get random garbage in the fields if you use MP3Gain, but I don't use MP3Gain (that i know of).

No doubt, your APETag of those 2 files was corrupt.
and, so sorry to tell u that, Tag&Rename is still not support the MP3 that with ID3+APE.

So, u have 2 choices:
1) remove all tag in Foobar2000 v0.83 , and then re-tag the mp3 with any tools.

2) install foobar2000 v0.9 beta , and the use it to remove the APE tag in those mp3 files.

I installed the new beta, and it seemed to automatically fix my problem smile.gif
Thanks unicoder for the suggestion.

Next question -
Where can I find a version of AMIP that will work with the new beta?

NO, it didn't fix anything automatically...
all corrupted APETAG still remain in your mp3 files, unless u removed them.

Hence why I said "it seemed to".

Retag the files with APE2+ID3V1 wink.gif
