Hi all,

I'm in the market for a DVD burner and I had a look at the table at http://www.accuraterip.com/driveoffsets.htm to see if there is a recent and decent drive for DAE. The Samsung TS-H552U is shown to have an offset of only +12 which I consider quite good. Also the drive seems to be pretty popular among users. The price is around 40€ so it's quite cheap (or at least normal).
Now, I have seen that the drive supports Accurate Streams, C2 and doesn't use cache which should be good.

I'd like to know if there are some of you who own this drive and can tell if it does a good job at DAE. And also is it possible to correct the read offset of +12 with EAC and read the 12 samples from the Lead-In of an audio cd.

Thank you!

Don't double Post!!!

If you want an answer, how about waiting a little longer than 19 minutes before making a new thread asking the same question.

using C2 is not recommended, most drives don't report it properly.

Hi there!

I think everyone can see that the two threads I opened are not in any way related. The first one was all about asking if there is a md5sum database for cd's (wavs). The second one (this one) is about a drive. I don't know how you come to the conclusion that this is a double-post.

But thanks for the info on the drive!

Cheers

Read offsets have no bearing on DAE quality.

So are Windows XP, iPods and onboard audio chipsets.
