Full Version: joining WAV files in fb2k

Hello,

I've been searching on HA and have come across other posts that indicate that Foobar has a function that will let me stitch together a bunch of individual wave files to create a single file. Unfortunately I cannot seem to find out how to actually do it from Foobar.

I would prefer to do this rather than go through the hassle of burning the wav's to an audio CD and then re-ripping as a single wav image file.

Can anyone describe how this is done? I am using fb 0.8.3.

Thanks in advance,
Synthetic Soul
You need to use Diskwriter.

Load all the WAVEs into a playlist in the right order. Select all files. Right-click and select "Convert" > "Run conversion, single file output".

By default I believe you should be asked what format you want to save in. Select "WAV (PCM, fixed point)".

You should then be asked where you want to save the file, and under what name.

NB: If you are looking for a cuesheet to accompany the WAVE may I suggest foo_cuesheetcreator or installing my amended version of Diskwriter.

Thanks! i'll give it a try!

OK, Just tried it and I get the following error:

ERROR (foo_diskwriter) : Conversion failed.

Any ideas?

I'm not sure how conversion could possibly fail with WAVE files.

The only thing I can think of is that the source files have moved since you loaded them into the playlist.

Edit: can you play the source files in foobar? If you can play them I don't see how you can't convert them.

Another idea: ensure you have enough disk space for the conversion. I think I got that error when I ran out of room testing recently.
