I have some problems on the masstagger. Since I listen to japanese songs, I usually use japanese to edit my tag. When I use the masstagger function, I copy and paste the tag from amazon.com. After editing, the japanese shown correctly on foobar2000, but on other program like windows media players, te japanese character become "?". Since I am sure that windows media player can decode japanese character, I want to ask if there are any solution to this problem so that the tag in japanese can be correctly shown in programs like windows media players? Also, I heard from a friend that foobar2000 can change the coding in the tag,m is that true and how? Also, I downloaded a 3rd party plugin and put it in the components folder, what else is needed to be done so that the plugin works?

As far as I know foobar writes tags in UTF-8 format, but the ID3v2 component in version 0.8.3 will write in UTF-16 or ISO-8859-1.

WMP is displaying "?" as it is expecting ANSII format - or at least it is not expecting the format that is stored. What type of files are we talking about?

I'm afraid I don't know any more than that - my knowledge on unicode is lacking.

You don't need to do anything but drag the component into the "/components" directory. If you open foobar and go to Preferences, at the top of the left-hand tree you should see the option "Component libraries" which will display a list of all the components loaded. If you are still confused let us know what version you are using (0.8.3 or the 0.9 beta) and what component you are concerned about.

I see.
I think I am using it for wma and mp3 files.
My plugin already works, but are there some software that can change the tag code from UTF to ANSII?
Also, I want to ask can foobar2000 display and edit album art?

I think I was a little confused/tired when I wrote this. Basically UTF-8 is used when writing APEv2 tags. These are used often, which is why I wrongly stated UTF-8 to be the default.

I don't know what codepage (ANSII, UTF-8, UTF-16) WMA tags are in I'm afraid. I don't use WMA.

I don't know the answer to any of your other questions either (although I believe album art can be displayed using a ColumnsUI panel) - I just wanted to clear up my misinformation.

If You mean albumart that's kept into id3v2, then foobar2000 remowes it.

With foo_uie_albumart you can display Album Art stored in the music folder.

Is there any other place that I can download this plugin, the links inside seems to be dead.
