howdy,
i've been chopping and changing the directory structure of my collection as of late, and it seems the database is getting confused, and not updating it's records. as a result, i've got 2 entries for a lot of tracks, and a lot of tracks that just plain aren't there any more. i've clicked the 'remove dead entries (slow)' button several times but it never does anything- it works for about 5 minutes, and the database is exactly the same again afterwards, with the non-existant tracks. is this a known problem, and if so how do i get around it? will i have to nuke the whole database and re-scan?

Check to make sure that the dead entries aren't in any playlists (from the main menu, "Playlist....Remove dead entries").

If you have any plugins that store playback history, clear the history.

well, i've tried both of these things, but it still just won't remove the old entries. i'm going to nuke the database and start again, if that doesn't work then i'll know there's something supernatural going on. thanks for the replies anyway, chaps!

are any of the files in the foobar directory set to read only?
