I recently got a new phone, the nokia 6170 and it plays aac ringtones, but it actually means just straight .aac files. I cropped some songs and converted them into aac format using itunes, but it used the .m4a container format. Is there a way to strip the header from the file or to convert it to raw .aac format so that it'll play on my phone? Thanks for the help in advance ppl, I greatly appreciate any input you might have.

Get

Get the Nero dll from the trial version, if you do not have nero.
You do not need to install, nero.
Use Winrar and rightclick on the downloaded file from Nero, choose "open with winrar" extract only the needed dll's.

Check the helpfiles on this forum for config of diskwriter in foobar2000.

This should get you in the right direction.
Or order Nero.

took a little fooling around to figure out how to work it, but it worked great!!! Thanks a lot. Plus taking all the header info out made the file noticeably smaller.
