Alluding?
OMG! A spelling mistake in a forum post! Call the English Oxford dictionary!

Thanks for the info.

to the other (less preferable) option, which is creating one image file, and using a cuesheet to jumpt to tracks.
I use this method with Monkey's Audio files, but with MP3 I believe it isn't ideal, as seeking is very poor, IIRC.
YRW. =) No problems here with WinAmp and the Cue Player plugin.
IDTID. From everything I've read seeking in MP3 is poor, and therefore I still wouldn't recommend this method over using track files with a gap-aware player.

I'm sure there are numerous other posts in this forum on the subject - and, I repeat, whether it works for you or not, I would
still prefer track files with gapless info, and therefore recommend it to others.

Either option will only work on the PC - so I'd go for track files played through a player that handles LAME's gapless info - like foobar.
I don't follow your logic here: does foobar2000 work on anything else but the PC?
Whether you go for a cuesheet with an MP3 image, or LAME track files with a gap-aware player, you are limited to PC playback as far as I am aware (although I understand Rockbox are going to be allowing gapless playback on the iRiver soon).
I can't explain it any other way.
Edit: BTW my knowledge of portables is lacking, so it is
very possible that there
is support for gapless playback with MP3 on a portable already. I would be very interested to hear of any other player, whether it is PC-based or portable, that supports LAME's gapless info. Thanks.
