Okay, this is probably another stupid newbie question, but I did a search for it and it was difficult to really find what I was looking for. All the information is pretty above the head of someone just getting started!

Is there any ABX test results that show that 24-bit, 96kHz audio can be told apart from standard 16-bit, 44.1kHz audio? The reason I ask this is that 24/96 recordings are becoming more popular in the live music community and I just got a new DVD player with DVD-A capability, so I was wondering if one can really tell (I personally don't think that I can, but I also have trouble distinguishing between an mp3 and the original file unless I listen very hard and repeatedly over a small time period).

Thanks,
Phil

P.S. I saw the thing in the FAQ, but it was somewhat confusing to me. Also, for those of you that can hear a difference (if there are any of you), what is the overall feeling of how it is better?
