This modified mplayer can load winamp DSP plugins and use it as its audio filter to improve mplayer's audio quality (work on both audio and video files). Now thousands of winamp plugins just get their new life with mplayer.
To make it happen, add "-af wadsp=dsp_plugin1.dll;dsp_plugin2.dll;..." in your mplayer command line.

just been testing it, this is absolutely very cool, how did you compile it? and where did you get wadsp?

did you make changes to the source?i'm gonna see if i can find the source code on the media encoder page, hope i can find it, so i can show it to a friend. i'm not a programmer myself, so...

wadsp is a mplayer audio plugin written by me which implement winamp dsp plugin support.
There is no modification on mplayer source itself except for adding this plugin into the source.

maybe you could make a little site for it, with the source code and some explanation? then you could ask the guys of mplayerhq.hu to link to it (on the 'related projects' page), and more people will become interested... just an idea
