I'm currently working on the daunting task of tagging all of my mp3s crying.gif Being that I'm a fan of electronic music, I'm at a bit of a stopping point. Each set has multiple artists but the entire CD is being placed by DJ Tiesto. So, how would I tag it? Use of Composer & Artist tags I suppose but would other programs like Winamp be ok with that? As a side note, I also need to find out if there's been a standard set for soundtracks. Currently, I'm using VA - TITLE as a directory name then adding tagging each song as necessary.

Basically I would say the artist of the track in the artist tag, the title in the title tag and the album artist (or whatever else indicates that it is a various artists album) in the album art scheme works best and is probably the most compatible.

This should enable proper sorting, playlist display, file renaming in almost all cases.

TITLE == song title
ARTIST == song artist
VARIOUS == 1
ALBUM ARTIST == DJ Tiesto
