Hey, Im looking for a program to edit some mp3's I have. I am looking for something fairly simple and easy to use but I don't want to sacrifice features. I have found some but I was wondering what everyone thought was the best.
Thanks

If you are looking for a normal sound editor, use Sony Sound Forge, Adobe Audacity, etc. If you are looking for a lossless mp3 editor, use mp3DirectCut (or whatever it's spelled). If you're looking for a conversation, use search first.

Which is to say, most sound editors (Audacity, Nero, etc.) will decode the mp3 to .wav data before editing, and then re-encode. This isn't great because you lose quality each time you re-encode... it's like making a recording of a recording, where some fidelity is lost in each step. If you want to directly edit the mp3 data without re-encoding, use mp3directcut, as mentioned. You can find it by googling mp3directcut download. mptrim (formerly called mp3trim) is useful if you just want to trim silence or fade out beginning or ends, but mp3directcut is the only mp3 editor that I'm aware of that has a display of the audio waveform.

AFAIK, the adobe one is named adobe audition: audacity is the name of another program, and is a free editor.
To do great changes in your mp3's(sound effects and such), you may need to reencode them(or keep them in wavs or lossless formats to maintain quality, but using more hard disk for the same audio output). So it depends in what you are looking for.
