I've been able to find the cable I want online but only in 500ft and 1000ft reels. Anyone know where I can buy smaller reels or buy the cable by-the-foot? I need Belden 82761 cable for making RCA audio cables, but I would never be able get rid of 500 feet.

Looks like Mouser has 100' spools[pdf] in stock .

Thanks. That looks like what I want. One thing, though: Why do they call it multi-paired cable?

Does seem kinda silly, but I think it's just a categorizing thing, since they do sell the same cable with two pairs (Beldin 82723).

Makes sense to me. I need to make a mini-to-RCA cable. They are hard to find to begin with and I have never been able to find one longer than 8 feet. I need a fifteen footer.

I watched a demonstration on a tech show showing how to put these cables together and figured I'd give it a try. I plan on making all my A/V cables from now on. Screw Monster Cable and all the other insanely expensive retail brands.

Systm.org, I presume?

Kevin Rose is frickin' hot.

Yep, I got it off of Systm. From what I've read on their comments page, I'm one of the few the found that episode useful. I had no idea putting together A/V cables could be so easy, or that the materials were so available.
