Full Version: Track Order When Burning MP3 Files

Hi all.....I've looked through the last few pages of threads, and can't see an answer to this....
I have a new MP3 player in my car, and now want to create an MP3 Disc for use in it. I've been searching around looking and trying a few free burner software programs, and so far have always come up against the same problem.....that being that you can't re-order the MP3 files as you wish, they all just fall into alphabet order, and that's it.
I really don't want to prefix each one with a number or letter - that seems to be alot of work (maybe up to 120 MP3's on 1 disc).
So, how do you guys do it ?.....is there a program out there (free or not) that will burn an MP3 disc whilst allowing you to order the tracks as you wish...the last program I looked at was Feurio, but that won't allow re-ordering either - unless you're making standard audio cd's.
Is there some other program that can re-order first, then burn maybe ?. Yes, I'm new to MP3 (on CD), so this may be a silly Question).
Thanks.....

Although you stated you didn't want to go the route of using a number to allow for proper ordering the easiest solution is to name the mp3's alphanumerically.
Example:
Artist\Album\01_Artist_Trackname.mp3
Artist\Album\02_Artist_Trackname.mp3

It wouldn't be much work to batch rename the mp3's if you used a tagging/renaming program such as Tag Frontend. Also with Tag Frontend there's a Test mode option which means you can test and see the results before actually applying them.

MP3BR Imager will do what you want, FXtrader.

I would suggest iTunes if you are on a Mac or Windows machine.

The mp3 files on the disc are read in filename order, which has no constant standard. It is not, therefore, by burn order, because indexes are read off the TOC.
