I've been planning on getting a Laptop for college and I'm probably going to get a PowerBook 15" which accepts type 1 and type 2 card slots.

I also plan on buying a micro amp from headroom for my headphones. I would really like to get a sound card with a high quality line out without breaching the $150 budget or so. Would it be a better idea just to get a DAC built into the micro?

Are most sound cards compatible with Apple computers?
