are there reccommended quality settings for ogg like user posted for mpc?

IMHO Quality 6.00 is the generally accepted near-transperancy switch. If I need to use Vorbis I generally use quality 6.00. But it all depends on your ears, if you can hear problems with this switch, you might want to increase the bits being used to encode.

I'm no audiophile, so I do fine with Vorbis Q1... smile.gif

It's a personal thing. I've got a friend who could tell a particular song in q9 from the original -- after comsuming 8 beers. And not just coincidence -- performed the test thrice.

Wow... it must suck to be like that.
It mean - it renders all peer-2-peer services useless...

Original CDs are actually quite cheap compared to high end audio components.
