If I close FB 0.8.3 then I can't open it again.

After closing it I had a look at the task manager and I can still see FB listed in the services list. If I select it and terminate the service then I can get it start again.

I'm running win xp sp1 and have only one account with no password and the PC goes automatically to the desktop.

I copied everything from a previous PC (with xp sp1 too) where everything was running OK.

Thanks.

There were a few third party components that could cause this, foo_tunes was one of them. Perhaps also foo_audioscrobbler, though I'm not sure on that one. You should check your installation for known problematic components. It couldn't hurt to update to the latest versions of other components either.

PS: foobar2000 runs as a process, but not as a service.

I use both samurize (in fact foo_vis_samurize2.dll) and shuffle but, as I told you, I just copied the foobar dir from a backup copy I made before changing just the motherboard (due to some issues with the PCI bus and cards). Of course I reformatted the HD and re-installed Win XP sp1.

I can't put my hand in the fire but I'm quite sure it was working with the previous MB. Surely it works on another PC with an older MoBo and cpu and on another again with the same MOBO as the new one.

Any thing I can do to find the problem?

Before finishing this post, I tried and put a ".off" at the end of the two components mentioned above but nothing changed. Shall I have to do it on all the other components?

Sorry, of course it was "process" and not "service".
