Does 1.4x GigaRec work with Plextor Premium drives only, or why is that option always disabled? I recently purchased Plextor CD-Rs but still, the highest rate I can select is 1.3x.

I can verify that it also isn't available using a PX-712SA and Verbatim media!?
I just received a TY CD-R and still no luck. 
The issue is not media dependant. The Premium is the only drive to support GigaRec 1.4X.
And yes, Plextor CD-Rs are Taiyo Yuden.
