I'm looking to buy some speakers and an amplifier for use in my bedroom. I need them to connect up to a DJ set I bought not so long ago. I'm inexperienced on the amplifier front and I wonder if someone could tell me whether this would allow me to listen to the record players and whether this is a suitable amplifier. It's about the amount I am willing to spend and it seems to do all I want. Basically I just want to know if they will work with each other as well as the two record players I am using. Any help or recommendations is much appreciated. Here are the speakers and amp I am looking at getting (website is irrelevant).

Solid state (transistor) is pretty much all about the same. So long as it specifies "phono" it has the pre-amp needed for magnetic phono cartridge input, so you are good to go there. But, one input, not two or three. You can get an external switch box, or build one, to handle multiple phonos in at once.

Looks like it will work. Get a little more than you can afford. ;o)

You may find that at a low budget getting a vintage amplifier will give you a better phono stage. But then the power amplification may not be as good.

That shouldn't be a problem as the record players go into a mixer and then the line-out from the mixer is just one cable so effectively it will be one input.

Thanks for the help guys.

In that case you woudn't need a phone input of course. Your speakers will almost certainly be the limiting factor. You can't get good speakers for that price. For amplification if you can find a sonic impact tripath amp that will be cheaper and likely better, if 5W is enough for you.

Well this is only for a bedroom setup so the Wattage on those speakers will be good enough. I've heard these mission speakers (or similar) at a friend's house and they certainly are very good which is why I went for that brand.
