I'm planning to properly tag my music collection soon...it's becoming bigger and bigger and it need it badly.
But...I seem to remember opinions here that ID3v1 and APE are "good", and ID3v2 is "bad"...OTOH I think that I've read also that there's everything OK with v2 really...
And since unfortunatelly effective searching for such short phrase is impossible...I'd be thankfull if you'd sort out my confusion.

I really don't know why many people say ID3V2 is evil. Never had any problem with V2 tagged files, neither on hardware players (flash, cd) nor with software players.
Hmm...in the meantime I did find some threads about it...it seems it's just a thing of "technical ellegance", right?
So I think I'll use them, even though more elegant solution would be nice, since the tagging tool I'm planning to use (MusicBrainz) does that...and also al my audio players read them jus fine...
