Full Version: Programming iPod firmware

Is there anyway to program the iPod to do certain things when hitting certain buttons?

For example, when randomly playing songs, I want to be able to hold down the middle button (4G) and have it then send that song to the on-the-go playlist, rather than having to navigate the menus to the song in the playlist and highlighing the title the having to hold the button. I'd like to just do that when the song is in the Now Playing mode.

Also, I like to program it to, when playing a random song, if I hit the down arrow (or something) it will then jump to that album.

I presume the only way to do stuff like this is to program the firmware, and I'm sure that's locked down pretty tight, but if folks know how to do this, let me know.

Thanks,
Brian
