Hi.

I'm thinking about buying some kind of device that is capable to receive streams from an Internet via wifi (802.11b) and send the DECODED BY ITSELF signal to simple amplifier (analogue).

My requirements are pretty simple: it should come with 802.11b support, remote control, support of wma/asf format and mms protocol (MANDATORY) and an analogue out.

Does such thing exists today? If yes, what is it and where it can be aquired in US? (Online, if possible, as I myself from Israel wink.gif )

Thanks for your advice.

I had this requirement in the past for one of my clients and I ended up settling for the Phillips Streamium sl400i. The bundled software leaves alot to be desired but what was compelling was its ability to be configured from a personalized philips portal website which allows you to configure custom streaming radio stations. If i recall correctly, it supports both mp3 and wma as well as jpegs and divx movies. Its kind of spendy at $300+ and its by no mean a definitive solution but there seems to be a void in the market for any kind of quality device like this and its the best one I've dealt with so far.

you might also want to consider a Squeezebox2 from slimdevices ( http://www.slimdevices.com/index.html ). Its main purpose is to play streamed music from a local music server (using slimserver software). It can also pick up many internet radio streams (not sure about all the specs you've given) and the recent "Squeezenetwork" feature gives it the ability to access internet radio even if the local slimserver is turned off.

Not exactly what you were looking for perhaps but well worth a look...
