Hi,
is it possible to use foobar to stream music in intranet? I have all my music on my desktop pc, but would like to listen to it on my mobile too.
Is there any plugin that allows streaming?

Hi,

If Foobar (not the latest beta to date) uses OddcastV3_foobar plugin, it will be able to act as a client for IceCast server (which will have to be instaled somewhere too, so it can relay/broadcast the client stream into an internet one).

Oddcast allows you to transcode in realtime the stream that goes from Foobar into IceCast, and change to a 64 kbps mp3 broadcast, if you don't wish to keep the native one's rate, for example.

Hi,
thanks, I got that working. BUT I can't listen to the stream using Media Player Classic but it works fine using WMP and Winamp.
Using Media Player Classic 1 second of the stream is repeated continusly. Any idea what might be wrong?

Hi,

Altough I don't use WMPClassic, I've had a similar problem with WMP looping within more or less a second too, it hapenned only once, and during a realtime ajdustment on the transcoding bit rate.

Turning off WMP, Disconecting OddCast, restarting the IceCast Server, and reconecting OddCast (transcoding a 224kbps source to a 64 kbps stream) made it back to normal once I reconected WMP to the stream URL, which I had to rename /stream.mp3, for WMP didn't like it with no sufix...

You may also try diferent transcoding options (ASF for example) with some other software, not foobar related (like videolan - vlc - which has no need for plugins or broadcast servers and is also free).
