Hi guys,
I hope you can help me with this. I recently bought "D-A-D"'s latest album "Scare Yourself", and yesterday I bought an mp3 player. So, I decided to rip the CD to use on my mp3 player. But EAC gets a read error at 6% on track 1 (I haven't tested the other tracks yet). This is the first time I've seen EAC unable to rip a CD. I've tried all possible methods; secure, paranoid, burst etc. but nothing works! How come? Any ideas?

Copy protection would be my first guess. Is there a compact disc logo on the jewel case cover?

If this logo is on the CD (it'd probably be on the back somewhere) then it is definitely copy protected.

Yes, of course, I forgot to write that the CD IS copy protected. But I've been able to rip all my other copy protected CDs without any fuzz. I wonder why this sucker doesn't work...?

Was it produced by a label? Their site seems to indicate it was self-released.

It says EMI Music Denmark on the cover.

There are probably 10 different copy protections (different versions too), and chances are your drive can't handle all of them. This CD might just be having a different CP than the others you had.

Yes, I'm afraid you're right crying.gif . So, the best option is to try to rip the CD on another computer I guess? I only have one CD/DVD drive myself.

Try to rip with dbpoweramp; it usually works in copy protected CDs.

Yes. It depends mostly on the drive.

I found an old Mitsumi drive that I installed. This drive doesn't even recognise the disc as protected smile.gif .
Thanks for all your help!
