Am I the only one missing the "Start playing on startup" option or am I overlooking something?
In the Playback section of the preferences there is the option "Resume playback after restart", but this one doesn't do the trick.

i have no problem)

@kawaii: Resume after playback does work as it suggests, but I think Prodoc is referring to the option in 0.8.3 called 'Start playing on startup', which starts playing the current item even if stop was pressed before fb2k was closed. Conversely, resume only resumes from the last position if playback was not stopped before fb2k was closed.

Indeed.

So this option is gone for sure? Why is it removed? Will it be back in the final release?
I realy liked this feature since I have foorbar automatically launched with Windows. Why not combine both options from the 0.8.3 release, call it 'Start playing on startup' and make it resume playing if a song was already playing on shutdown and start playing from teh beginning of the song if this wasn't the case.

Add /play parameter to your foobar2000.exe shortcut in startup, e.g.
CODE
"c:\program files\foobar2000\foobar2000.exe" /play

Start playing on startup feature was used by relatively few people, it's mostly obsoleted by resuming and redundant for people who know how to use commandline parameters; it will not be back.

I'd like it to continue doing whatever it was doing at shutdown. If playing, keep playing; if paused, pause in the same spot; if stopped, select the right spot.

Too bad to hear that but good to know there's an alternative, thank you.

That's pretty much what "Resume playback after restart" does for you.
