I just started playing around with the albumlist view strings, my aim being a "genre>style>artist - album" view. One album should be allowed to appear under multiple styles. From reading the forum, I haven't yet quite found out whether the multiple appearances are even possible as I want them, but that actually isn't my main question.

My main question is: What's the difference between %style% and just style? At least for 0.8.3 both seem to be allowed and they show a slightly different behaviour. When I use the plain "style", the album list only shows nodes for genres where albums with at least one style tag has been found (and I'd like nodes for all the others, too!). The good thing is, however, that I get the multiple entries I wished for. When I use the %'s, I'll get nodes for all genre entries in the album list, but albums with multiple styles and up under a concatenated single entry (e.g. "Jazz">"Jazz Vocal, Post-Bop, Jazz Avant-Garde">"Patricia Barber - Verse").

I hope I have been somewhat clear - I'll probably read this post after a night's sleep and shudder wink.gif. If a clearer example of what the list should look like later on is needed, let me know.

Alright, seems I was unclear on what I wanted or whatever. Anyway, I found the solution to what I wanted in foo_playlist_tree: #tag# works like a charm. Just in case anyone ever stumbles over the same problem smile.gif
