foobar (v.0.8.3) seems to be unable to read the id3tags of abot 95% of my mp3 files.

in the preferences -> title formating -> playlist, i tried the simple entry "%artist% - %title%". but in almost all of my files i can just find "? - ?" in the playlist.

are tere any special requirements to read the id3 tags?


note:
all of my files have ID3v1 and ID3v2 Tags. I created all of the tags with a freeware tool called "mp3tag" and winamp reads the tags correctly.

EDIT: ID3v2 Tag support (foo_id3v2) is installed

Have you used mp3gain on most of your files?
