From what I've been reading, lame 3.97 should take over right? I mean it's safe to use 3.97 now....
And sth else. If I download and install lame 3.97 into eac's dir, I will use the same command line won't I?

seems to be decent so far
The recommended settings thread has been updated for 3.97, and it's changed a bit, new commands and stuff.. sticky at the top of this forum, though it does say October 2001..
maybe mods can change it to say 3.97 that so more people notice it's been updated

The recommended settings thread has been updated for 3.97....
But the recommended LAME compiles in the FAQ hasn't been updated yet.
