Hi,

I just want to know if there is any progress in choosing the lame logo. Did the devs even look at them?

IIRC, only the "gentleman of Nipponic origin" didn't give a life sign.
Gabriel
We had a first selection round.
Second round is occuring now.

Hehe. Indeed. I suspect he doesn't care and would rather leave the decision to Robert, Gabriel and Alexander.

As Gabriel said, there has already been a round of voting, and there are 35 logos left. We'll try to bring that list down and then decide how to come to the final logo - wether by public votation (among the ~5 best ones, EG) or developer decision.

Any place to view the current 35?

C'mon 35 logos is still far too much. When there are 5 or less logos left, I'd like to have these selected ones public as Roberto already suggested.

not asking to vote, just curious to see

They are already at 19, and we're trying to bring the list to 10 at most. Then the developers will decide about a public poll or a decision among them.

of course out of curiosity, i would like to see which logos they were choosing from, but personally, i am against the idea of a public poll. i feel the decision should be completely and totally up to the developers... thats just my opinion though.

I agree. From the comment's made in the original thread, and some of the submissions, I don't much trust the taste of the majority of the members here. tongue.gif

I think it's down to the LAME devs - they're stuck with it, not HA.

Edit: I guess they could get our opinions on 5, but then have the defining vote anyway. If that was the case the voting figures should be hidden though...

In my idea, they would pick the 5~10 best logos, and then let people choose among them. That way, no matter what is ultimately chosen, it'll be a good one.

List is down to 9 logos now, BTW. And I'm awaiting definition from A, G and R about if whether there'll be a public vote or a decision among devs.

Another possibility would be a mix of both: a public poll where the votes of the devs count x10, or something like that.

Or public poll that will show average attitude, but developers select logo on their own anyway. Such a poll can be considered as a hint smile.gif

Is it still possible that none of the submitted logos is going be chosen, meaning the old one would remain?
Vertigo
I see a few logos which are considerably better than the current one, by my tastes, so I am sure they will pick one that users have submitted.

If you want to contribbute your art skills, musepack needs a logo too.

There is no "old one". LAME never had an official logo :B

That closest it ever had to a logo, actually, was a blatant trademark violation.
