hey everyone, i was wondering if someone (or more than one) would be willing to help me out with something.. if it's too complicated, that's alright.. but how do you rip audio from a streaming file? is there a freeware program you can get to do it, or do u need to buy a program or equipment? i've never done it before, but i would like to learn how to do it... just let me know if ya can help me out! thanks in advance

first off, what kind of file do you want to save? MP3, MP4, WMA, Real...
what service do you use? where do you want to download?

The process depends upon your soundcard. If you have one of those gaming cards that uses the Windows mixer, you have to navigate to the mixerr's Recording section and activate the appropriate source, which is generally called something like 'what you hear.' If you have a soundcard with its own software mixer, you must set-up the mixer according to the appropriate manufacturer's instructions. In the recording program you must choose the mixer's output as the program's input source.

There are also some inexpensive programs to do this for you virtually automatically. Here is one

That would be re-recording the stream. It is possible to capture the stream in it's native format.

Streambox VCR Suite is I think the best, but the only one that actually works is an illegally cracked copy.
