I've been using EAC with the native Windows XP ASPI interface. I'm using the secure mode with only the accurate stream checked. The WAVs I get sound good, without any clicks or pops, even with my scratched CDs.

But everywhere I look, they say, "XP ASPI BAD. Latest Adaptec or VOB good."

Before I follow everyone's advice, I have one question: Will the WAVs extracted using Adaptec or VOB ASPI sound different from the WAVs I was getting before with the XP ASPI?

I really don't trust my hearing so your opinions would be very much appreciated. huh.gif

It may or may not be faster at extraction with the other drivers. It's no biggie to try VOB ASAPI. Small download and won't interfere with anything. You can also try Nero's ASPI driver, I think just by dropping it into the folder with EAC.

So... the difference will only be in ripping speed? There'll be no quality differences whatsoever? unsure.gif
