Full Version: EAC newbie question: Making directory structures
Hydrogenaudio Forums > Lossless Audio Compression > Lossless / Other Codecs

OK, I've got EAC w/FLAC running OK, but it always outputs my FLAC files to the same directory.

How can I have it automatically create a directory structure each time I compress the files (individually) off a CD?

For example if my base directory is:

C:\FLACFILES

I'd like to be able to rip the songs from a CD and have them stored in:

C:\FLACFILES\ARTIST\CD\

Thanks,
Mike

This has been answered a couple times already... simply insert a "\" .

Example: %D\(%Y) %C\%N %T

Go to the "EAC" Menu and choose "EAC Options" and go to the "Filename" tab. That is where you can set the path and file name structure. You will also need to go to the "Directories" tab and set the directory.

You could set the default directory to C:\FLACFILES

And the set the Filename naming scheme to %D\%C\%T which will give you the following path on extraction:

C:\FLACFILES\CD ARTIST\CD TITLE\TRACK TITLE

You could use %A\%C\%T, which would give you:

C:\FLACFILES\TRACK ARTIST\CD TITLE\TRACK TITLE

I use the first one, so that it puts my Various Artist CDs in my VARIOUS ARTIST Folder. This gives one folder for the CD, instead of multiple folders for each artist on the CD.

Hope that helps.

Sorry about that -- I actually did try a search, but all the questions concerning this topic were a lot more complicated than mine!

Thanks for all the advice.
