Sorry for my lame english...

How can i play DMF (XTracker-Files)?
I have two PlugIns for Foobar2000 - DMFtest and ModPlug Decoder.

But Foobar2000 v0.8.3 won't load DMF-Files!

Here is the LOG:

INFO (CORE): startup time: 78ms
INFO (CORE): opening file for playback:
INFO (CORE): location "file://G:\Cyron Trax\DMF-XTracker-Files\LIG-AURO.DMF" (0)
ERROR (CORE): location:"file://G:\Cyron Trax\DMF XTracker-Files\LIG-AURO.DMF" (0)

Who knows a program for windows (XP) that plays DMF-Tracks?

You could try DeliPlayer

homepage: http://www.deliplayer.com/

Of course Modplug Tracker itself is also capable of playing back DMF files.

  • Try changing the extension to .zip or maybe .rar and see if you can open it with an archiving tool. I've seen a couple sites that put modules inside zip archives, but leave the extension of the zip file as .mod or something, which breaks module decoding plugins that aren't equipped to decompress the files. If it does turn out to be a zip archive, just leave the extension as .zip and the foobar2000 archive reader plugin should allow either DMF plugin to play the file back.
  • If this works, I should point out that while foo_dmftest gets a few things notably wrong (i.e. arpeggio) and its internals are horribly messy and slow, Modplug's playback is terrible and I wouldn't recommend it unless absolutely nothing else works.
  • If you can't get foo_dmftest to work, try DeliPlayer. In fact, even if you can get foo_dmftest to work, you might want to try DeliPlayer anyway and see if you like the way it plays the song more.
  • If DeliPlayer doesn't work either, you've probably got a broken file.
  • If DeliPlayer does work, could you post a link to the file so I can figure out why foo_dmftest is broken? smile.gif
Hope this helps.

Knows anybody a program that shows me the notes of the XTracker-arrangements?
I want to do remix my old modules in Cubase.
XTracker unfortunately don't run on my computer.

I know, my english is bad. Sorry!

Modplug Tracker is the only Windows-based program I know of that will let you look at the notes in a DMF. Whether the tempo or any of the effects will be right, I can't say, and I know that looping in 16-bit samples will be broken.

If you've got a copy of X-Tracker and a PC, you may also want to try experimenting with DOSBox.
