This is my petition on the official creative forums, the petition is for lossless support for the zen series of players. I own a Zen Xtra and would love to be able to play flac files on it, or even any other type of lossless compressed file that supports tagging and is easy to use.

Why should you sign the petition
1) you would be helping lossless compression formats gain more support
2) you would be helping me in my "crusade" to get lossless support for the creative zen players

If it was a petition against Creative I might sign it tongue.gif (good to see democracy in action). You would have better luck working with IRiver H100 series with Rockbox Firmware to say least, it's generally difficult to get these companies to pay attention to the details only a few have been really instrumental like (Rio, Neuros, etc) even still a lot of them like to "back out" of these things. How many DAP companies have stopped adding support for different codecs, technical features, etc already in an attempt to design new players to compete for the next holiday season? If I had a Zen Xtra I would be glad to help you, but I applaud you for what you are doing.

surely it would be better to help mend the cracks at creative than to be anti creative, thanks for your support though biggrin.gif

Marketing, support, build quality, driver quality...

Honestly, I never heard of a big company listening to online petitions. And considering how Creative treats their customers, I would guess that it's even less likely that they will abide to their requests.

I wonder how long it'll take until Harvey Fong notices that thread...
