hi, I have the following question:

I recently downloaded a couple of albums in flac format, which have no cue sheet files in their directories. So, when I try to burn them to CDs I don't get the 'original' CD because I don't know the true gap sizes. Can you tell me how or where I can get the cue files, or if there is some alternative way of doing the job.

On freedb.org I found Track frame offsets of the albums but don't know how to use them to make cue files myself with the right gap sizes.

Thanks!

Thanks damaki, but I've already been there and the cue files there are for single image files, which have all the tracks in them. Can I convert these cue files to cue files for multiple tracks?

If you burn the individual tracks without a cuesheet, then the gaps will be perfectly copied(except hidden tracks in the pre-gap of track one), but they will just not be marked...

This will result in :

1. You won't see any negative countdowns between tracks on the CD players display.

2. When playing the tracks in random order(programmed play), then the gaps will be played between tracks, even though they actually shouldn't be.

You could by calculating them manually, but that sounds like hard work to me. It would be a lot simpler to convert the FLACs to WAV and concatenate them together then use the CUE file that you found at cuesheet.info to burn the disc.
